Known in Thai as khao niao mamuang (ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง), it is one of the most loved desserts in Thailand.
Sweet sticky rice softened with coconut milk, slices of ripe yellow mango and a salty-sweet coconut sauce. Some versions use black sticky rice, and some add crispy mung beans or sesame on top.
It is sold at street stalls and in restaurants across Thailand, and many visitors make it their first stop for dessert.
It is at its best in mango season, usually during the hot months, when the fruit is sweetest.

Cook it at home, or try it in chocolate form.
